Whirling Meditation

I have been a seeker and I still am, but I stopped asking the books and the stars.

I started listening to the teaching of my soul.               Rumi

Dear Friends,

Join us on Friday 19th  of January for ‘Whirling’-Meditation!    Enjoy the Whirling in the warm and friendly space of Yoga Ground .

We will have an extended introduction to the Whirling-practise. So this is a great opportunity for ‘Beginners’ to get started with a lot of practical tips and insight.

Time:  7 15 pm   ;  Venue: YogaGround  56 Surrey Cres , Grey Lynn (!!  Small side-street , 2nd floor)

The Meditation: after 30 min of introduction and practising we whirl for 15 minfollowed by 15 min of silent meditation. This is a much loved Meditation based on a Sufi-technique that the Sufi-mystic Mevlana Rumi

developed in the 13th century. By emptying yourself and finding your centre you can open a pathway to connect with your higher self and the ’Beloved’.

It is recommended to not eat much before Meditation/Whirling and to bring socks for the Turning.

To be able to unlock the secrets of this meditation technique, please come regularly . In case of questions please call Abheer on  8172740    or 027-6567953

I am very much looking forward to our first meditation together this spring.

Heart-greetings,

Abheer

The Inayati Order: A New Name

On January 1, 2016, Pir Zia Inayat-Khan announced that the organisation known as The Sufi Order International has been renamed The Inayati Order in part to reflect the custom of naming a Sufi order after its founder.

In the history of Sufism, Orders have traditionally adopted the name of their founder in the decades following the founder’s death. Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan understandably did not name his Order after himself, but long-established Sufi custom renders it natural and proper for us, who follow in his footsteps, to honor his memory and confirm our allegiance to his spiritual message by taking his name as the rubric of our work.

In consideration of these facts, and moved by a deep sense that the time has come, on this first day of the year 2016, Pir Zia Inayat-Khan has announced that The Sufi Order International will henceforth be known as The Inayati Order.

As a fuller designation the Order will be introduced as The Inayati Order: A Sufi Path of Spiritual Liberty. The name Inayatiyya will be considered a welcome synonym. You can read more about this on the international Inayati Order Site.

Universal Worship Study Group – Auckland

This study group is open to all who are interested in deepening their understanding of this dimension of the Sufi message which is now so relevant in this time. It is also for those ordained as Cherags (ministers of universal worship), and those who feel called to train towards ordination, which is open to Sufi initiates and non-initiates.
These meetings include meditations and practices for Cherags, attunement to the prophets, study readings, discussions, etc.
5-7pm, usually monthly on the third Sunday of each month.
At 344 Mt Eden Rd, Mt Eden (in “Home and Family Counselling” premises).
“The mission of the Sufi Message is that, instead of giving a new form of worship, it collects all forms in one, so that no one may say, “My form of worship is left out”. It gives examples so that the followers of all religions may worship at the same time. It also brings all teachers known and unknown to the world as different beads in the same rosary. Imagine this idea spreading and penetrating through those separated because of differences of faith!” – Hazrat Inayat Khan
